Louis Vuitton Sues Artist!

Louis Vuitton is suing artist Nadia Plester for use of their name and likeness.
Through her Simply Living campaign, started in October 2007, Plesner sells products with the image of a Darfur victim with a chihuahua and a Louis Vuitton-esque purse. All benefits go to Divest Darfur. What do you think? Does Louis Vuitton have any merit? Comment.

this kind of makes fun of paris hilton and stuff so its kinda funny that way. but on the other hand its pretty sad that the boy has no clothes on but a LV bag in is hand. dont know if i like it. i rather dont. kinda racist or sth.

I think Louis Vuitton has some merit because their brand, to me anyway, is being used by the artist to represent vanity and carelessness. i they have a right to protect their image.
Besides that though the artwork reminds me a lot of Bono's RED advertisement campaign. Forlorn african people are used in it like props to guilt people into buying things they don't need and the company makes a lot of money. Can you tell i don't like RED, lol? I think it's dehumanizing. By the way this is dum_spiro_spero from the mka board!
