I just have to say the Black Nine West Gladiator Wedges I bought are beyond amazing. They look identical to the Balenciaga ones Mary-Kate's Balenciaga's wears. Definitely my favorite purchase of Spring 2008....so far.

Best Dressed at the Met's Costume Institute Gala

I've looked through all the outfits at the annual Gala last night, and I have to say Claire Danes, Gisele Bundchen, and Eva Mendez were definitely my top picks! I know this is an event where you are supposed to be avant garde, and the theme was ''superhero,'' but for a lot of ladies this year, it was too much. Victoria Beckham looked like David's mother in her ensemble, Mary-Kate's dress was ill-fitting, and Anna Wintour looked like an extra on Star Trek. Last night's event proved that just because it is 'haute couture' does not mean that just anyone can wear it. Also, there's a HUGE difference between costume-y and a full fledge costume. I look at high-end fashion as art. It's mere purpose is to be looked at in the way a portrait is looked at. On its own and with no distraction, so that the full beauty of the piece can be appreciated. On a manikin or a 80 lb. model, these creations would have looked great, but in retrospect, they look clownish and most of the time, not flattering at all on the red carpet. Claire Danes wore a black gown with a gorgeous back to it. Gisele chose a nude, yet sultry number, and the texture of Eva's dress was A-mazing. These are my favorite outfits for three reasons: They are are flattering, elegant, yet, they all have something costum-y and avant garde about them without looking silly or over-the-top. It's all about finding the perfect balance!

Rachel Zoe: Love her or Hate her?

I love the way Rachel Zoe dresses. I love the way she transforms some-what trashy celebrities, into wonderful creations from head to toe. Notice what I didn't say? I don't love Rachel Zoe. After reading her book, I must give her credit for putting together a guide in which she stresses the look of the 70's which will never really go away. However, her attitude in the book, and APPARENTLY in real life, is not as lovable as her couture vintage ensembles. You can't deny that she is brilliant and has an amazing career. However, many in Hollywood don't have much liking to Rachel. Nicole Richie infamously bashed her, while it is said that Anna Wintour really dislikes the celebrity stylist. Her latest fued with Anna Wintour has escalated and so far, Anna's winning. What are your thoughts on Rachel?

Chanel bicycle

I've never met anyone who doesn't love Chanel. For those of you who are obsessed, I might have something for you. If you have $13,595, you can buy yourself a Chanel bicycle. That's right. Isn't it cute?! I'm not the bike-riding type, so it'll stick to the bags. It's a rare collector's item and no doubt will double if not triple in price as it becomes a vintage piece. Not only that, but instead of a basket, you get a classic Chanel to put all your goodies in. As of right now there are only 3 left in the world and are available by special order through Chanel.

Runway Style: Maxi Dresses

I wrote a few weeks back about how victoriassecret.com has great and affordable maxi dresses. This week, I'll spend time talking about couture pieces. Dolce and Gabbana really outdid themselves this year with their Spring/Summer Collection 2008. The prints, the fabrics, and of course the long and flowing hair! ;) Other designers such as Etro and Roberto Cavalli also incorporated the trend into their collections. Enjoy!

Louis Vuitton Sues Artist!

Louis Vuitton is suing artist Nadia Plester for use of their name and likeness.
Through her Simply Living campaign, started in October 2007, Plesner sells products with the image of a Darfur victim with a chihuahua and a Louis Vuitton-esque purse. All benefits go to Divest Darfur. What do you think? Does Louis Vuitton have any merit? Comment.

Nicole: Summer, Winter, and Formal

nicole richie

One of the reasons I consider Nicole to be a fashion icon of the likes of, dare I say it, Jackie Kennedy, is her ability to transform her fashion from seasonal to event appropriate. For summer, Nicole sticks with her boho-hippie style, we all adore(as you can tell by my poll). A must bag for Spring/Summer would have to be one of her many Balenciagas, which she has in nearly every color of the rainbow. For winter, she is more rocker-hipster chic. This entails lots of black, red, skulls, and leopard print. Her bags for the color seasons are her black and red Chanel Vintage Jumbos, or her Favorite, and apparently versatile black Balenciaga. For red carpet events, Nicole lives by one rule: Total Glamor!

An older picture of Nicole, but theres nothing I don't love about this outfit.

How to do Leopard Print Correctly!

I've always loved Leopard print, but there is one general rule I live by....

Never two pieces at once.

Do the lovely print in form of a cardigan, blouse, shoes, handbag, or scarf. Keep the rest of your accessories clean and simple.

Add black, brown, cream, tan, and even white to the rest of your outfit, and it'll definitely be a hit.

Here are some picture of celebs that do it right!
